In March 2018, the Summit Village Hall sold their building and began to occupy a new building. The Troop could no longer meet at the old building. The area was searched and we are grateful to have found a home at Aurora Hospital in Summit.
In March 2014, the Delafield Legion Post 196 agreed to become Troop 49's new Charter Organization. All Delafield Legion Post 196 members at the meeting said yes. When the Post Commander asked his members who was in Boy Scouts growing up almost everyone raised their hand. A new chapter begins. Our former Charter Organization, the Summit Volunteer Fire Department merged with other departments so they no longer exist. The troop leadership looked into many options that would best serve the troop and the scouts. The meeting location and times did not change, and we continued to meet at Summit Village Hall on Thursday evenings. The Legion Post is very happy to step into this role and has assured us they will be an active Charter Organization as we in turn will be there for them.
