We miss our Legion friends:
A Friend to Troop 49: Many of our Troop 49 Scouts worked with Mr Mark Corgiat at the Racoon Feed at the Legion as well as other Legion events. Mark was a servant to the core- cheerful, encouraging, and helpful. Recently Mr. Corgiat was awarded the Commander's Award for his service to the Legion.
Mr Corgiat passed away suddenly on July 30, 2022. We will miss him dearly.
Long Time Member and Past Charter Executive George Finch passed away peacefully on September 7, 2022. George loved to mentor young people. He helped Scouts in Troop 49 and Troop 20 with their Eagle Projects and impressed upon them to "take responsibility for yourself and look after the guy next to you". He wanted the Troop and Scouts to be the best example of scouting. We will remember his insistence on scouts wearing their uniform properly, respecting the flag and nation, and that rank requirements are not just a one and done but a life skill to be honed and used. Mr. Finch never wavered. He was an Eagle Scout through and through. He will be missed. Mr. Finch's family has set up the George Finch Eagle Scout Fund in his memory.
